About Cat House Studio

Beyond our diverse and extensive staff, my goal for this studio is to develop, at current, 3 projects, and was kindly invited to develop for MorphOS, as I’m not yet registered with A-Eon Technology Ltd. The code and hardware will be for the X5000 when that reaches fruition. The wonderful thing about both MorphOS and Amiga OS4.1 is that it’s very easy to port from one to the other.

I’ve loved the Amiga platform since my friend in high school got me an A1000 in 1989 after showing me his A2000 setup. My enjoyment of music and playing music started when I was very young, my mother taught me how to play the electric organ, which resulted in getting an 88 key Casio synthesizer with a midi interface on my A1200.

Fast forward from 1989 (A1000) and 1994 (A1200) to 2024, and my setting up of a new studio, using a new X5040 as my DAW, and using a 1991 A600 (A300 on the motherboard!) and a 1993 Megalosound sampler.

I’ve had numerous instruments over the years, but wanted to find something to cut down on the space it takes up, as well as be versatile enough to meet my creative needs. I thought back to my synthesizer of my youth, and thought what would be not only fun but different than what I used to have. It was important for me to not be tied down to a bunch of wires. I ended up getting a Roland Ax Edge, for the fun 80’s and 90’s vibe, combined with serious studio power and capabilities, and have it setup wirelessly with the X5040.

There is more gear in the studio, focused on an 80’s and 90’s NuWave sound, among other effects, but the primary instrument is the Edge.

And now, onto the various projects:
